Your allowance is a promotional perk tied to your Active Member status during your 6-month term. To ensure we have the best gear ready for the community, unused allowances reset at the end of the term. However, if you maintain your momentum and renew for another term or upgrade, we will "rollover" your remaining balance as a loyalty bonus!

Yes! One of the best parts of the Forager Club is building your crew. You can apply your allowance to gear for your friends to join you on a Gearhouse community hike or a private weekend camping trip.

If you plan on getting outside more than once a month, Trail is the better value. While the Forager Club gives you a set "allowance," Trail members get $400 off every rental. One weekend of skiing and one weekend of a complete camping set would already exceed the Starter allowance, making Trail the choice for high-frequency adventurers.

Absolutely. If you find yourself using your gear allowance quickly or wanting the perks of the other membership tiers, you can upgrade to Trail or Summit at any time.

No, but you can transfer the Forager Club membership and its remaining benefits to a friend once. The Forager Club is designed for irregular use to match seasonal patterns for this exact reason.

1. Weekly Community Hangouts These are the bread and butter of the club. Think of these as your low-stakes way to meet the crew. Post-Work Socials: Happy hours at the clubhouse or local breweries. Run/Bike/Hike Clubs: Casual, weekday outings designed to shake off the office chair vibes. Game Nights & Presentations: From trivia to guest speakers sharing their latest thru-hiking slides. 2. Skills Clinics & Workshops We want you to feel confident in the wild, so we host regular "how-to" sessions. The Basics: Intro to backpacking, map and compass navigation, and "how to not freeze" winter camping prep. Gear Maintenance: Sessions on how to patch your tent, wax your skis, or fix a flat on the trail. Seasonal Prep: Specific workshops to get you ready for ski season, climbing season, or "I'm just here for the wildflowers" season. 3. Curated Weekend Trips These are the "big" ones. We handle the logistics; you bring the energy. Group Backpacking/Camping: Self-hosted trips to local favorite spots. Activity-Specific Outings: Organized days for rock climbing, snowshoeing, or kayaking, camping, bbq'ing etc Wait, what's not included? We believe in radical transparency: While the events and community access are included in your membership, you’ll still need to cover your own: Personal Gear: (Though you get a sweet discount on rentals at Gearhouse with your Gear Allowance or 10% off rentals after that's been used up!). If you need lots of gear, the Trail Club is often a better fit as gear rental is free! Transportation: You'll need to arrange your own rides to the events. If you need regular transportation, we'd recommend you check out the Summit Club! Instruction: Some events have instruction for a fee (or are included for free in Summit Club Food: You'll need to bring your own snacks and water but you can buy coffee and snacks from the cafe before heading out if we're leaving from the cafe!
