Adventure Coordinator

Our purpose
Welcome to Gearhouse! Started in September 2021, Gearhouse is a one-stop shop on a mission to democratize the outdoors. We break down barriers to entry through peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, gear access, and community education. Whether someone is a seasoned mountaineer or a total "dabbler," we provide the skills, partners, and equipment to help them find their path outside.
We aim to introduce and develop a love of the outdoors for those new to exploring while also providing opportunities and paths for those already dabbling to develop more skills and expand their limits.
The Job
Gearhouse is looking for an outdoor enthusiast with guiding or trip coordination, and community-building experience to plan, lead, and coordinate social and outdoor trips for our members.
In this role, you will inherit a structured seasonal calendar framework and step into a collaborative team ecosystem. You will work alongside our staff and contractors to design, plan, and host outdoor programming, educational opportunities, social events, and seasonal celebrations for our members to drive connection and friendship through shared experiences.
While support staff will assist with advanced gear prep, you will be the primary driver of excitement and attendance at events as well as event execution, safety, and community experience.
Adventures should entertain all of Gearhouse's members and thus include but not be limited to:
-
providing access to a range of the PNW's various seasonal outdoor attractions
-
adventures for those new to or learning an activity
-
adventures for those wanting to challenge and grow from their existing level
-
creative and novel activities that will pique intrigue from pros and beginners alike
-
partnerships or Gearhouse-led activities with a mission-driven outcome in mind
Example trips might include:
-
Day hiking trips
-
Paddleboarding trips to local or distant mountain lakes

-

Bike rides ranging from city wide waterfront tours to bikepacking to mountain biking
-
Foraging in the Pacific Northwest
-
All to supplement our relaxed in house game nights, talks, and skills classes
Ideally members have at least 2 activities that are interesting to them each month. Creative trips and partnerships with organizations welcomed and encouraged!
