Basics for the Backcountry Clinic

Welcome to our next backcountry series! We've got a trip planned to the Chain Lakes. Come learn why backpacking is so great in the PNW during the fall!   

Ticket Pricing is for the entire series so just buy one ticket and then come to all following events!

$150 for non-members (non-members can also just attend the how to plan a trip class for $50),

$50 for members for the series. Experienced backpackers that want a longer trip can just come to the Part 2 instead of the course which will pursue less mileage.

Clinic Series: 

Part 1, 9/29: How to Pack a Backpack 

We'll talk about how to fit your gear in a pack to optimize space, how to pack a bear bin, and how to plan for multiple day trips. We'll also go over the different types of space saving gear you can get, and how to plan your gear for different types of weather.  

Part 2, 10/1-10/2: Backpack Trip to the Chain Lakes 

Part 3, 10/6: How to Plan Your Own Backpacking Trip 

We'll teach you how to plan a trip, starting from the very beginning of where to find trails all the way to planning your route and tracking conditions. We'll share our favorite resources to help you plan successful, safe, and fun trips. Then you'll plan a trip for yourself!
