Landscape Photography

Join us for an engaging & informative presentation on Landscape Photography.

During this presentation Kate will share essential tips and techniques to elevate your landscape images. Whether you’re planning an intentional landscape photograph or on a hike in the mountains, this session will provide some great tools to make better photographs.

This will include an overview of the following concepts:

• Understanding Light - The best times of day for the best light
• Understanding Composition - How a focus on composition can shift your images from snapshots to photographs
• The Art of Storytelling - How creating a series can help you share your story of your experience in a place
• Gear - Recommended essential lenses and accessories
• Editing - Recommended apps for editing, on the go.

This session will include some time for Q&A so don’t be shy!

This is open to all levels of photographer, including those using their mobile phones.. No need to have a camera handy, however, be prepared to take a note or two and ask questions!

Towards the end of the session, Kate will highlight a few images from the community in an image discussion. If you would like to participate, you can submit an image after rsvping.

About Kate Hailey

Kate Hailey is a freelance photographer and photography educator based in the Pacific Northwest.

As a teenager, she began to learn the art of lighting, as a photo assistant. Over the years she has explored the world and found her true voice in capturing stories of people and places along the way.

Kate leads workshops, photowalks, and photo tours, focusing on topics she holds dear, from lighting and portraiture, to travel and exploring creative techniques.

Kate is an ambassador for Lensbaby and a contributor to blogs of brands like Lensbaby, as well as SLR Lounge, Digital Photography School, FujiLove, Glazer's Camera, and beyond.
