About the event

Don't let the backcountry intimidate you! We'll talk about what you need to travel in the backcountry and keep yourself safe and comfortable. We'll talk about gear essentials, how to maximize both weight and comfort, and how to use all the gear. We are unsponsored, unaffiliated, and unfilitered; we'll tell you how we really feel about the gear we use and give you the honest opinions and advice you need!

Bonus offer: Bring a friend along to all of classes for $75 - have them come on the trip for $150 (no gear provided)!

This course is a part of our backpacking and bikepacking series! We at Gearhouse want to get as many different kinds of people outside, so we’re running a series to teach you absolutely everything you’d need to know to get out into the backcountry. We'll talk how to pack a bike, gear, trail selection, weight (you don’t need to be ultralight to have a lighter pack!), food, safety: we will cover it all. At the end of this series, you’ll be confident in your skills to get you and your friends out on the trail, and we'll plan a trip to put your knowledge to the test.
