Skip the youtube vids, and skip the beginner mistakes. Learn from us how to get into the backcountry!

Seattle, 434 Yale Ave N Suite B, Seattle, WA 98109, USA
About the event
Remember Mary Poppin's Bag? Or Hermione's infinitely deep Mokesin pouch? Pack a backpack right and it'll feel like that. We'll teach you how to make the most of the space available in your pack, and how to strategize so that the tp and shovel don't end up at the bottom of the bag. We'll show you how to use your pocket space properly, and how to pack so that you aren't falling over once you try out some elevation.
This course is a part of our backpacking and bikepacking series! We at Gearhouse want to get as many different kinds of people outside, so we’re running a series to teach you absolutely everything you’d need to know to get out into the backcountry. We'll talk how to pack a bike, gear, trail selection, weight (you don’t need to be ultralight to have a lighter pack!), food, safety: we will cover it all. At the end of this series, you’ll be confident in your skills to get you and your friends out on the trail, and we'll plan a trip to put your knowledge to the test.
